Uncontrollable shaking during ceremonies?

Many people experience uncontrollable shaking during a Ceremony, and if there are no medical issues, this is actually a very powerful sign of Healing. When your body or a specific limb starts to shake, it is often trying to quite literally shake out dense or stagnant energy that has been trapped in your cells for years. It is a physical form of purging that is just as effective as any other kind of release.

🐒 In nature, we see this all the time

If a deer escapes a mountain lion, the first thing it does once it reaches safety is shake its entire body vigorously for several seconds. This is the animal's way of discharging the intense fight or flight adrenaline so it can return to a state of calm balance. Humans, however, are not very good at this. We take the hits of stressful or traumatic situations and instead of releasing them, we hold that energy inside our bodies and cells. Over time, this stagnant energy can manifest as emotional or physical illness because it has nowhere to go.

🧘 leaving room for intuitive healing

During your journey with plant medicine, your consciousness allows the body to finally do what it has been wanting to do for a long time. If you notice your right hand or the right side of your body shaking, it is often related to the masculine or dominant side of your being. This side is associated with control, logic, and linear thinking. Shaking here is a way for your body to dissipate the energy of holding on too tightly to life or trying to control every outcome.

🛁 Enjoy the process

Instead of fighting the sensation or feeling afraid, the best thing you can do is lean into it.

By allowing the movement, you are facilitating a deep transformation. You are letting your nervous system finish a cycle of stress that might have started decades ago.
This kind of introspection through the body is one of the most direct ways that Ayahuasca or Yagé helps us return to our natural state of harmony. It is a beautiful reminder that our bodies have an ancient wisdom of their own, and sometimes, they just need the space of a sacred spirituality to finally let go.
